Login problems
How do I access the members-only pages of the ATL website?
You need to go to ‘First time user’ and type in your ATL membership number, surname and e-mail address. Click ‘Request password’. A password will be sent to your e-mail address within a few minutes. Keep the e-mail that notifies you of your e-mail and password as a reference. You can then login using the ‘member login’ box on the top of home page by typing in your e-mail address and password.
How do I access the members-only pages of the ATL website if I don’t have an e-mail address?
If you don’t have an e-mail address and do not wish to set one up using the free facilities available on the internet (e.g. from www.wanadoo.co.uk; www.yahoo.com; or www.hotmail.com) then please contact ATL via the Feedback form at the top of the screen with your contact details to request a ‘dummy’ e-mail address. This cannot be used for correspondence but can be used to access the ATL website.
Whenever I type in my e-mail address and password, it says ‘invalid e-mail/password’. Why won't it work?
Try re-typing in your e-mail address and password carefully. Remember, there should not be any spaces in your password.
The e-mail address must match the one you gave on the ‘first time user’ page. If you are using another e-mail address, it won’t work!
If you have a Norton Personal Firewall installed, you need to contact the IT department at ATL for advice as to how to proceed. Please e-mail ithelpdesk@atl.org.uk, or call 020 7930 6441 during office hours and ask to be put through to the IT department.
Another possible cause of the problem may be the cookie settings on your machine. ATL uses a ‘session cookie’ to maintain a user’s login details during their visit to the site, and if these are disabled, you won’t be able to login.
Instructions about how to allow the session cookie follow. Remember, the session cookie is automatically deleted from your machine as soon as you leave the ATL website.
Go to ‘Internet Options’ - this will be either in the ‘View’ or ‘Tools’ menu at the top of the screen. Then go to ‘Privacy’ and in the Web Sites box click ‘Edit’. You can then type in http://www.atl.org.uk and click ‘OK’.
When I try to log in, I get a ‘page cannot be displayed’ message. I can only log in successfully once I’ve re-registered as a new user. Why can’t I just use my e-mail address and password?
ATL uses a session cookie to maintain users' login details on the site, and it is possible that problems occur when these are disallowed for the home page.

I’ve tried the options above, and I still can’t log in!
Please let us know so we can sort this out for you. The best way to get in touch is probably to send an e-mail to Feedback, including in your message your browser (type and version) and operating system (ie. Windows 95, 98, NT, Win2k, Mac OS 8/9, Mac OS X).
