Welcome to the ATL Wiltshire website. I'm delighted you have come to visit us.
After all you are the reason we are here.
In Wiltshire we are responsive to the needs of our members. At all our branch and committee meetings we ensure that "Wiltshire Issues" are at or near the top of the agenda.  It's our view that if any members comes to a meeting and leaves without getting the opportunity to raise an issue of concern to themselves or their colleagues then that meeting has failed.

 But we also "punch well above our weight" at national conference" so we can shape the future of education and our Union.

You'll also be reassured to know that we have a strong and balanced committee with representatives from secondary and primary maintained schools, the independent sector, college lecturers and school support staff.  This way we can understand and be responsive to the needs of all our members. 

You should receive a Wiltshire branch card with the September mailing which also includes the first of three newsletters.  The other two are sent out in January and April/May.  If you teach in schools they are sent to your school rep or if there isn't a rep to your school office and addressed to ATL members so that might be worth keeping an eye out for.

The branch meetings are usually in November in Salisbury and then at the Bear Hotel in Devizes in February and late May or early June.  We also have our own School Reps Training Day at the Bear Hotel in October especially for the ATL reps in Wiltshire schools.  If you can come to any of these events you are assured of a warm welcome.  Also if you haven't got an ATL Rep in your school or Point-of-Contact and are interesting in becoming one just get in touch and I'll explain what's involved.  It isn't hard work and it is rewarding. Honest.
