And find out why ATL is the fastest growing union in the education sector

University students will not be charged tuition fees by the current Scottish Executive, the education minister has confirmed.
Addressing the annual conference of the National Union of Students (NUS) Scotland, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning Michael Russell MSP said the party has no plans to introduce tuition fees.
However, referring to an ongoing review of higher education funding being conducted by Lord Browne, Mr Russell said: "We have to acknowledge that it will pose difficult questions for us in Scotland on how we fund our universities and university students in the future.
"But this government does not believe that the answer to those questions is tuition fees."
Mr Russell called for a full and frank debate between the Executive, students and higher education representative regarding alternatives to tuition fees in the coming years.
The NUS Scotland's annual gathering was held at the Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline over the weekend (6-7 March).
