ATL's National Executive

ATL's Executive Committee is elected every two years to run ATL and to develop every aspect of its policy, work and services. It acts on resolutions passed at the annual Conference and operates through a number of committees.

The Executive Committee comprises up to 63 members and eight national officers, plus the AMiE president, and meets seven times a year in London. Each Executive member will represent up to four local branches in his or her area, and attend the branch meetings of those branches, as well as providing support to branch secretaries.

The two-year cycle for current Executive members began on 1 September 2010. There are currently some casual vacancies on the Executive - see Joining ATL's Executive Committee for more details.

Nominations have now opened for the 2012-2014 Executive Committee cycle – see Joining ATL's Executive Committee for more details.

Committees

The Executive Committee operates through a number of advisory, operational and policy committees, which focus on different aspects of the overall work of ATL. These committees consider a wide range of important issues, from continuing professional development and conditions of service, to independent schools and special educational needs.

The committee structure provides many opportunities for members of ATL to participate in its activities and to contribute in areas where they have expertise. For more information, speak to your branch or view our page on ATL's member working groups.
