And find out why ATL is the fastest growing union in the education sector

ATL is proud to announce the results of its annual Rep Awards to recognise those individuals who have achieved better conditions for members and colleagues over the last year.
The high standard of entries meant the Awards Committee, made up of branch secretaries and members of ATL's Executive Committee, had a very difficult job judging over one hundred nominations.
The winners were finally selected for the contribution they make and the support they give their colleagues, going well above and beyond the call of duty. They were presented with their awards at a special ceremony at ATL Conference in Manchester on 4 April 2012.
The winners were:
Outstanding Workplace Rep Award
Katy Ryder, Richmond upon Thames College.
Outstanding Union Learning Rep (ULR) Award
Geoff Rudge, ULR Rep for the Solihul Branch ATL.
Outstanding Health & Safety Rep Award
Keith Buncle, South Bromsgrove High School.
Joint winners of the ATL Future Activist Award
Paul Campbell, final year BEd student, University of Strathclyde and member of ATL Future group and Caroline Gray, PGCE student, University of Worcester and member of ATL Future group.
Outstanding AMiE rep of the year
Michelle McCaughley, head of corporate communications and marketing at Belfast Community College.
You can find out more about the winners in a special feature in April's Report magazine.
As the quality of nominations was so high, the committee also made the following commendations:
Highly Commended Outstanding Workplace Reps:
Peter Keeffe, Leicester
Sara Bassett, Bristol
Paul Wikeley, Wiltshire
Alvin Wood, West Yorkshire
David Wiles, Bedfordshire
Rick Raumann, Dorset
Highly Commended ATL Future Activist:
Patrick Ryan, Wolverhampton
Highly Commended H&S Reps:

Gary Fletcher, Blackpool
Highly commended ULRs:

Congratulations to the winners and those who were highly commended, and thanks to all of you who nominated colleagues. We really do have some fantastic reps and we hope that these awards in some small way acknowledge and celebrate all that you do for ATL. If you'd like to talk to someone about becoming a rep in your workplace, please contact ATL's organising team or see ATL's Get active pages.
