And find out why ATL is the fastest growing union in the education sector

Becoming the ATL contact person in your workplace is easy. It doesn't take up too much time but it would be a very good way to increase the effectiveness of ATL in your school or college.
The role includes:
acting as the 'eyes and ears' of ATL in your workplace
disseminating information to other members in your school or college
recruiting new members to ATL and organising existing ones.
As an ATL contact, you would be entitled to:
somewhere in your workplace to display ATL materials (ie noticeboard in your staff room)
use of school facilities, such as a photocopier, email or the telephone, to enable you to share documents with other members.
As a contact, you will receive a list of the ATL members in your workplace once a year. You will simply need to check that it is up to date, try to obtain email addresses for all of your member colleagues and return the updated list.
You would also receive a toolkit, including ATL's guide to being a contact, a staff noticeboard header and a supply of up-to-date posters and recruitment materials, for you to display these items prominently on your staff noticeboard. On an ongoing basis, you would receive new posters, recruitment materials, etc with your regular mailing of Report magazine.
Your local branch would be there to support you, and your local branch secretary (who would have been informed of your appointment as an ATL contact) gets in touch to offer any assistance and support.
If you are interested in becoming the ATL contact in your school or college, or wish to find out more, email our organising team with your name, membership number and school/college details.
