The ATL/Edge Hill partnership

ATL and Edge Hill University have established a unique partnership so all ATL members have access to Edge Hill University's flexible accreditation programmes

In its most recent OfSTED inspection (April 2011), Edge Hill was awarded 33 grade 1s out of 33, something never achieved by any other university. In the last academic year, 8000 teachers took advantage of the university's innovative opportunities for professional development.

What's on offer?

ATL members will have the opportunity to undertake a variety of accredited activities at postgraduate and undergraduate level at a very significantly reduced cost. Through the partnership you can access the MA Education and Undergraduate Degree programmes that are impact-led, flexible and personalised to your individual professional needs. The programmes are fully focused on the impact of outstanding practice on the outcomes and achievements of learners. As such, ATL development programmes and/or your school improvement activities are an excellent foundation on which to base the early parts of your academic progress.

The MA Education is aimed at teachers, lecturers and educational practitioners like you who lead and support learning in a wide variety of educational settings (such as early years, primary, secondary, post-compulsory or lifelong learning). The undergraduate degree programmes are aimed at those in settings who support learning.

The partnership between ATL and Edge Hill covers accreditation awarded by Edge Hill, for work submitted to Edge Hill, by ATL members. The partnership agreement between Edge Hill and ATL does not cover payment of fees to any third party for tuition delivered to ATL members by that third party.

ATL courses and accreditation

ATL's courses do not offer accreditation in themselves but they do act as a springboard to accreditation opportunities. You can use the activities and evidence from our courses in your portfolio along with an account of how you applied your learning in your setting and what impact it had. All members who register with Edge Hill University will be assigned a personal tutor and gain access to Edge Hill University's extensive online resource library.

If you would like further details of the CPD modules available from Edge Hill University, or to explore how planned workbased CPD activity might attract accreditation, please contact Edge Hill University directly by emailing them.

You can also register your interest in learning through Edge Hill with ATL and we will be in touch.
