Health and safety representatives
This basic course is for all ATL union health and safety reps and will help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to perform this essential role in your workplace.
Knowledge
The course runs over three days. As an ATL health and safety rep you have the legal right to attend this course on full pay under Section 4-(2)(b) of the Safety Reps & Safety Committees (SRSC) Regulations.
You will learn how to:

identify and establish safety representatives basic rights

improves facilities

identify the main hazards and problems in your workplace

find and use the information about safety standards in your workplace

undertake workplace inspections

develop organisations for safety

develop effective procedures for taking up problems.
