TUC public sector pensions campaign
ATL fully supports the TUC's campaign to defend public sector pension schemes, including the Teachers' Pension Scheme, following recent attacks by politicians and the media.
The TUC, to which ATL is affiliated, launched the campaign in July 2009 to respond to claims by business groups, pressure groups and opposition politicians that public sector pensions are unaffordable, out of control and produce immediate public expenditure savings.
