And find out why ATL is the fastest growing union in the education sector

On 5 May 2011, the Welsh National Assembly elections took place.
All candidates for the National Assembly elections were sent our election manifesto and election pledge cards. We asked all candidates to sign up to our pledges. The responses from candidates can be accessed via this document: scroll down to find your constituency and region for your candidates' responses.
ATL held a political hustings meeting on the 11 March 2011. In attendance were
Leighton Andrews AM - minister for education, lifelong learning and skills
Jenny Randerson AM - Liberal Democrat education spokesperson.
Darren Evans (TES Cymru, chair)
Nerys Evans AM - prospective assembly candidate for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire and current spokesperson for education for Plaid Cymru
Andrew R T Davies AM - prospective Conservative candidate for South Wales Central region- former education spokesperson.
This event was quite a coup for ATL Cymru both because it brought together four key players in Wales' education system and also because it sets the agenda for the forthcoming election. This was the first time that ATL Cymru had held such an event and shows how we are increasingly the leading education union in Wales.
