Tell us what you think about ATL's international possibilities and priorities

ATL's international work is dependent on the interest and support of our members so it's vital that we know what you'd like the union to be doing globally.

We're about to launch a brief survey that we'd really appreciate you completing.

It asks some questions regarding your understanding and confidence in incorporating the global dimension into your teaching practice along with the nature and type of internationally focussed professional development that you'd find most useful.

In talking to members about how the union might be able to support them to take action in support of global social justice we've identified the area of education sector procurement. The UK's 22,000 schools purchase hundreds of millions of pounds worth of products and services each year and whilst central and local support for procurement is provided by a range of bodies it rarely if ever deals with the ethical and environmental implications of purchasing decisions.

ATL is subsequently considering how we might be able to support our members improve procurement policy and practice in favour of a fairer deal for workers overseas and we'd like to know about your reaction to this possibility too.

The survey shouldn't take more than a few minutes to complete and will be vital in shaping the future of our international work.

As soon as the survey is available we'll put the link here so make sure you check back shortly.
