International projects
As an education union ATL shares the concerns and aspirations of education unions internationally, including in parts of the world where the rights of education professionals and their students are routinely violated.
Using our unique position as a membership organisation we're committed to supporting fellow educators internationally and to advancing educational rights.
We do this primarily through supporting the development of democratic organisations that represent teachers and other educational workers and working in solidarity on specific projects with them.
We're also committed to bringing their voices to discussions with policy and decision-makers in the UK and beyond and to raising public awareness of their situation.
We aspire to have a balanced programme of links with fellow educationalists and their organisations around the world. We're currently committed to or developing relationships with education unions in Colombia in Latin America, Cambodia in South East Asia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa.
