And find out why ATL is the fastest growing union in the education sector

ATL is widely recognised for bringing the voice of educational professionals to policy-making in the UK and will continue to do that work, including work specifically on domestic educational issues that have a global dimension.
We're also committed to mobilising our members in support of education internationally and to using our influence as a union to support fellow teachers and education workers in particular.
ATL plays an active role in the Global Campaign for Education, which brings together child rights activists, teachers' unions and development organisations from around the world united in their determination to make the right to education a reality.
We are backing GCE's 1GOAL campaign, which aims to use the World Cup in South Africa to raise awareness about the 72 million children worldwide unable to access primary education.
Hundreds of our members participated in the campaign's 2009 action week, making it the biggest to date, with more than a million children and 6,000 schools across the UK participating in activities designed to raise awareness of the plight of the world's 75 million children who don't go to school.
We are also a member of Education International, which represents nearly 30 million teachers and education workers from over 400 member organisations operating in 172 countries and territories, from pre-school to university. We're committed to growing our work with Education International to help protect the rights of every teacher and education worker, and every student they educate.
