Professional development
ATL believes it has an important part to play in helping members respond to the challenges of globalisation and realising the opportunities it presents.
This includes supporting our members' professional development to equip them to better prepare their learners for life and work in a globalised economy and multicultural society.
It also includes helping members understand the impact of globalisation on their own lives, to help them be more engaged and effective in responding to the global dimension of their lives both professionally and as citizens.
As part of our international development project we are undertaking a range of activities that will help inform the development of our globally focused professional development offer to members.
This includes an international issues survey that we are currently conducting which gives members an opportunity to tell us about their global learning needs.
We have also teamed up with Oxfam's schools team to pilot a series of professional development events that will introduce members to education for global citizenship.
