Joint union academies campaign and resources

Following the Academies Bill in 2010, unions representing the school workforce came together to prepare resources for schools.

ATL, the NUT, NASUWT, Unison, Unite and GMB, prepared the following materials for members and reps in schools judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted that have been pre-approved for academy status (all resources are PDFs):

In May 2010, ATL, NASUWT and the NUT also sent a joint letter to the chairs of schools' governing bodies that would take any decision on transfer, that urged the governing body not to proceed without a full consultation with parents, staff and unions.
