And find out why ATL is the fastest growing union in the education sector

The 142nd annual Trades Union Congress is taking place in Manchester from 13 to 16 September 2010.
Spending cuts are expected to be the dominant theme at this year's Congress. Full details about Congress 2010 can be found on the TUC website.
ATL's activities at Congress 2010 were largely focused on its fringe event, entitled 'England's schools: not open for business'. ATL motions on child poverty and defending state education were also carried.
'England's schools: not open for business', chaired by ATL president Andy Brown, debated the key questions: should public money be used to line shareholders' pockets? What's the evidence they'll do a good job? And should private companies be able to influence children's education?
