Creativity in the classroom

Course programme:

  • encouraging students to discover fresh approaches to subjects

  • giving students the ability to look for more than one answer to a problem

  • developing effective questioning skills in students

  • giving the students confidence to challenge assumptions

  • developing creative teaching styles and rewarding relationships with students

  • creating a balance between rigour and creativity - covering the curriculum

  • making the subjects relevant - inventive connections between subject areas

  • helping students to reflect upon tasks in order to find more effective approaches.

Knowledge

This course will help you to:

  • unlock creativity in all pupils

  • develop creative teaching techniques

  • encourage risk taking

  • explore creativity as part of personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS)

  • investigate creative problem solving techniques

  • help you develop lateral thinking skills

  • explore the 'testing' of creativity.

Cost

There are no course fees for members to attend an ATL CPD course, but ATL does not cover travel or accommodation costs. If you are not yet an ATL member you will be charged £250 to attend our courses.
