Managing teams

At ATL we want to be with you all the way through your career from NQ to head teacher, principal or senior leader.

This suite of courses enable you to move into management/leadership roles or if you are already in a leadership role to consolidate and develop skills that will help you in your role so that you can have a positive impact on the workplace and the learners.

Members are able to sign up for one classroom based and two online courses only.

Please note that the online course will require approximately 3 hours a week study time with an additional 2 hours for reading.

Course programme:

  • leading teams, leading people

  • understanding teamwork and how to build teams

  • the difference between groups and teams

  • managing difficult people – why it is important, tips and techniques for effective outcomes.

Knowledge

This course will help you to;

  • understand teamwork and how to build teams

  • recognise the use of coaching in teams

  • examine the effects of leadership on staff

  • explore positive conversations with staff.

Cost

There are no course fees for members to attend an ATL CPD course, but ATL does not cover travel or accommodation costs. If you are not yet an ATL member you will be charged £250 to attend our courses.
