Secured Loans
A secured loan (also called a homeowner or debt consolidation loan) is secured on your home in the same way as a mortgage. With a secured loan you will be able to borrow more money than with an unsecured loan and repay it over a longer period. If you have applied for an unsecured loan but been declined it may be worth considering a secured loan.

Unsecured (also called personal loans) are usually used for the purchase of cars, holiday or small levels of home improvements. If you are looking to borrow a higher amount of money or want to pay it off over more than 8 years you may be better off applying for a secured loan.
