Publications

As the education union, ATL knows the importance of providing authoritative, relevant and practical information to benefit our members both professionally and personally.

The range of resources that we offer includes the following.

Publications

ATL is unrivalled in the range and quality of its free printed and downloadable guidance and advice. Our commitment to CPD has led to a series of education publications which can be used to demonstrate learning through reading and evaluation in your performance management. Topics include things like managing classroom behaviour, collaborative working and safe use of the internet. Our series of employment advice publications cover many of the key areas members need help with, for example bullying, violence and assaults, and maternity and flexible working. We also publish a range of research publications, which debate the major topics in education, for example the future of the national curriculum. For a full list of publications available free to ATL members, download our publications catalogue using the link on the right-hand side of this page.

Magazine and newsletters

To keep members up to date with member news as well as what is going on in education, ATL regularly produces the award-winning Report magazine for members, as well as a range of newsletters specific to sections of ATL's membership, such as New2teaching magazine, Total FE, Independent schools and ATL support.

Factsheets

These downloadable advice sheets cover key topics such as cyberbullying, school closures and discipline. The factsheets also includes a comprehensive series of documents giving information on your pension, which can be downloaded or ordered in hard copy. For a full list of advice sheets, visit our publications and resources page or for pension factsheets, visit our pensions section.
