Abortion rights

The NEU will continue to campaign for abortion rights so that women have a right to choose and have access to the reproductive healthcare that they need.

Commenting on the passing of Motion 23 at the Annual Conference of the National Education Union, Kevin Courtney, Joint General Secretary of the National Education Union, said:

"A woman’s right to choose in the US, and the progress made on abortion rights for all women, have been undermined by the decision of the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade.

"The NEU will continue to campaign for abortion rights in England and internationally so that women have a right to choose and have access to the reproductive healthcare that they need.’’
