It is with a great sense of regret that the NEU has given the Secretary of State for Education notice of the fact the NEU will be re balloting members for further strike action.
This is Phase 4 of our continuing action short of strike (from Monday 17 April 2023).
The five recognised teacher unions are calling on all teachers and school leaders to take a full day of strike on the 26 April.
Following detailed talks, the National Executive of the NEU have agreed to postpone a planned day of action in Wales, which was scheduled for the 14 February 2023.

73% of NEU teacher members in Wales who responded to the union’s consultation have voted to ACCEPT the pay offer put forward by the Welsh Government, and end the dispute.
An attempt by education unions involved in the industrial action dispute over pay and funding to break the current deadlock and move forward with talks with the government has been ignored.
